Your Nose Glows So Bright...

Rudolph

So once again Christmas time rolls around.  I hope that everyone has a great time this holiday season, I know that I am trying my hardest, though sometimes that can be very difficult.  This time of year has always been my favorite.  Of course growing up it was always about the presents, but as I got older I started to love the decorations and the music.  Hell I even start listening to the music right after Thanksgiving all the way until New Years for the most part.  Then once I moved away from my family it became even more special to me because it was one of the few times in the year that I could see all of them.

So with that I wanted to give you all a gift this year.  I tried to come up with several different ideas for themes, and a lot of them were good in my mind, but they may have been a bit too obscure for most, so I decided on Rudolph, since just about everyone knows him.  The other ideas are too good to pass up, so I will be sketching them out over the new few weeks and posting them, while they are not strictly Christmas, they are winter-time related.

I want to thank my friend GoldenPanther for helping me figure out the right pose for this one.  I had looked through my archive and found around 50 of them, but could not narrow it down.  He came to the rescue and helped me pick this one.  I do apologize if this is a little bit of a different style than my usual.  I am not in my normal working conditions.  I am using a work laptop and a small Bamboo graphics tablet, I also forgot my original lineart back home, so this was done on the fly.  Then with all of the family obligations that I need to do over these days I decided to forgo making my own background and find a photo that I liked.  I did doctor it a bit to make it fit with my theme.

Anyways I hope that you all enjoy.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Moving and Adventures in Computing

I apologize to everyone for being so quite for the past month.  I have not posted anything and sadly I have not really had the time or actually the desire to draw for most of this month.  I won't go into the details about the personal issues, to which are still not resolved.  But the big change this month is that I moved into a new apartment and I built me a new computer.

The old apartment that I was in was nice and really modern, but I guess that I had got in at a special time because the price was perfect for my needs, but suffice to say in the year an a half that I was there the rent did go up quite a bit.  It was to the point that I might as well be paying for a house instead of rent.  So I went out into the wilds of apartment hunting.  I found a nice place that was cheaper, bigger and closer to my work.  While they are all good the downside is that this place was built a few decades ago.  But they have renovated last year.  So the surface of things is new, but the layout is very dated.  But hey I will only be her for a year and it is a lot quieter than my last place.  I moved in over the Thanksgiving weekend, so yeah I did not have a really good vacation from my normal job because I was running up and down stairs and unpacking.  Hell even a week after I've been moved in I still don't have everything out of boxes.  You never now how much stuff you have until you need to move.  I am just hoping that the next time around I won't have so much.

The other big thing, well it's big to me, is that I built me a new computer.  About 4 years ago I made the complete transition over to Macs, I have a Mac Pro (Early 2008) and a MacBook Pro (Early 2011).  While I love my Macs I was seeing all of these great games coming out and I never was able to play them because they are on PCs.  I know that a lot of them are out for the PS3 and 360, but I suck at the dual analog stick controls, I am way better with a keyboard and mouse.  While I can also dual boot into Windows, my Mac Pro's graphics card is too old for current games, and Apple doesn't appear to be ready to update the system anytime soon, and I only have a limited amount of space on my MacBook Pro to put games.  So for the past year I have been saying that I wanted to get a PC just for gaming.  The biggest reason was that I wanted to play Star Wars The Old Republic (I am a huge Star Wars fan).  The original idea was to go through Alienware to get a custom rig built, I wanted certain specifics and they seemed to be the best builders.  The problem was their odd release dates.  I wanted to have the 3rd Generation Core i7 processor, but their desktop system was still using the 2nd Gen.  I started looking into this around July, and every month I waited and heard nothing.  I contacted their customer support just about every month and they could not give me an idea of when they would update.  So this past month when they finally said that they had no idea, I decided to give up on them.  I went through several other boutique PC companies and finally decided to just build my own.

I had built a custom PC about 10 years ago, but in all actuality I had researched the parts and bought them, but had someone else build it.  But I know that for the most part is is not too difficult.  So this past weekend I went to my local MicroCenter and picked up all of the parts for my gaming PC.  It took me about 3 hours to build it when I got home, but that was mostly because I ran into some issues that required me to go back and try things again.  But seeing as how I am currently downloading updates and games to it, I guess that it is working.  I know that there are some people out there that like "tech porn" so here are the specs for the system that I built:

Intel Core i7 3770K 3.5Ghz
16 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 RAM
2 TB Western Digital SATA 6.0 Gb/s Hard Drive
Asus P8Z77-V Motherboard
2x 2GB EVGA NVidia GeForce GTX 660 in SLI
Kingwin 850W Power Supply
Corsair Carbide 300R Gaming Case
Windows 8

Since this was a gaming PC I needed to have some games for it, so I went with Dishonored, Saints Row The Third, Deus Ex, Star Wars The Old Republic and the Mass Effect Trilogy.  I think I can safely say that my gaming needs are met.

I am planning on working on the few commissions that I have currently going on over the next week and hopefully will have them ready for next weekend.  I am available for commissions as well, so if you want something for Christmas please get your request in soon.

Please feel free to contact me if you're interested.

Cock-O-Lantern

Halloween 2012

I had wanted to come up with a good Halloween drawing, but I was having some trouble coming up with an idea.  My good friend GoldenPanther helped me come up with one.  He suggested a guy hunched over a pumpkin with a whole bunch of toys.  I loved the idea and added more to it with the guy's cock through the pumpkin as if he had been fucking it.

I hope that everything enjoys this.

Dracula - WIP

Dracula - WIP

Here is my version of Dracula for The Super Art Bros. blog.  I wanted to try something a bit steampunkish, but I don't know how good I came across with it.  I am still new to the whole steampunk theme, but I really like the whole premise.  I need to look through some games and concept artwork of steampunk to get a better idea of what sort of details I need to add.

Class Comics Halloween Meaty #3

Class Comics Halloween Meaty #3

So I had the pleasure and honor of being asked to do a piece for Class Comic's Halloween Meaty #3 collection.  This is one of the reasons that I was a bit late in getting some of my other pieces done.  I thought that my image came out pretty damn good and I would love for all of you to go out and get the PDFs.  There actually are 2 PDFs since there was over 80 entries into this collection.

I hope that you all enjoy.

So here is another WIP pic for the blog.  I know that the last ones have been a bit of slacking since they have not had color, but things have just been crazy around here.  But of all of the monster themed drawings that I have been doing this is the one that really got me.  I love how it came out and WILL color it.  I just don't know how soon.

I hope that you all enjoy.

Frankenstein - WIP

Frankenstein - WIP

I've been slacking on the Super Art Bros. blog, I have no one or anything to blame other than myself on that one.

This is my version of Frankenstein, the drummer for the monster band.  I wanted to do something a bit different than the normal drummer pose.  I also went with a more cyborg-like version.

I also just was able to get the lineart done.  I hope that you all like what I have so far.

Maleficent - Male Version

Male-ficent

The theme this week for The Super Art Bros. was a male version of a Disney villainess.  I decided to do Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.  I have always been intrigued by this villain, she was probably one of the darkest characters that Disney has created so far, and I guess that is why I like her so much.  I think that her inclusion into the Kingdom Hearts games was a great idea.

She is known for her green skin, green fire and long black cloak.  I wanted to try and capture that look as well as giving enough skin to show off his body.  I knew that I wanted to keep the hat, as that was the most iconic of her features, but the rest was something that I threw together.  I am not too happy with the fire background, but I think that for this it works.

I hope that everyone enjoys.

Spirit of Fall

Spirit of Fall

This is my entry for The Super Art Bros. blog.  This week's theme was the Spirit of Fall.  While there were multiple possibilities for this, I went for a more grandiose route.  I have always been inspired by the summons in the various Final Fantasy games.  They usually were over the top.  That is where I got the idea from.

Seeing as how the Fall is the time for harvest I went with the idea of using a scythe and the red, orange, gold and browns of the season.

I hope that I have captured the feel of Fall.

Captain N - Reimagined

Captain N

The theme at The Super Art Bros. this week was 8-'s Cartoon Characters.  I had at first tried Jonny Quest, but I did not like how he turned out.  He just did not seem to have enough uniqueness to work for what I wanted.

So looking over other 80's characters I came up with Captain N.  Granted he is skirting the 80's/90's line, but he did air in 1989.

Since he used the NES as his theme I decided to go with the Wii as his weapon and theme of choice.  In keeping with at least his Zapper I placed two tattoos of them on his lower abs.  I did keep the NES controller belt as I thought that along with his jacket were iconic pieces of Captain N.

I hope that you all enjoy.

Exim

Exim

This is my new alien OC, I am calling him Exim.  I don't really have too much of a backstory for him, but I should come up with something.  I always wanted to do something with two dicks, and I felt that this was the best place to try it.

This was my posting for The Super Art Bros blog.  Guytoonist did an incredible job with his work and I am impressed as always.  We had originally thought of Star Wars and looking into something like the Mos Eisley cantina.  For whatever reason the idea of an alien stripper came to mind and I decided to go through with it.

I hope that you like it.

This is my latest submission for The Super Art Bros. blog.  This week's theme was Final Fantasy VI, which is Final Fantasy III here in the US.  I had originally thought of going for Locke or Sabin, but they are a bit too obvious as characters in my vein of drawing.

Knight

Knight

This is my very late posting for The Super Art Bros. blog.  I had a busy week and I was not able to draw as much as I wanted.  Guytoonist beat me to the punch and posted his version on Tuesday.  I am hoping that the same does not happen again next week.

This knight has a strong color scheme with the Blood Knights from WoW, my main character is a Blood Elf Paladin.  I think that it works.

Let me know what you all think.

Night Elf Druid

Night Elf Druid

This is my entry in this weeks theme on the blog The Super Art Bros.  It had first started out as Elves of World of Warcraft, but it came out that both Guytoonist and I were drawing both Night Elves, and we decided to modify the theme a bit.

It's odd, but I love WoW and play it often, but I don't really do fanart for it.  I don't know why that is.

I hope that you enjoy.

Guy With iPhone

iPhone Guy

A fellow artist of mine, Guytoonist, and I have teamed up to start up an experimental blog, The Super Art Bros.  We will take a theme a week and do a drawing based on that theme.  We will give ourselves one week to get the drawing done and to post it to the blog.

This is a way for both of us to stay motivated and to keep a steady stream of art being created to help us practice.

Our first theme was Guys With iPhone, as we both love the site and thought that it would be perfect for our first go around.  I hope that you enjoy.

July 4th

July 4th

Well I know that I am a couple of days late on this one.  I had this sketched out on the 4th, but it took me a lot longer to finish than I would have wanted it to.  This is my tribute to the All-American Guy and the country that he lives in.

I think that the colors came out on this one pretty good.  Taking some advice from a fellow artist I added a different color light coming from the fireworks.  I think that it adds something a bit dynamic to the piece.

Please let me know of anything that I can work on to make this better.

The Big 3-0

Well this past Monday I turned 30.  That honestly is an odd feeling for me.  I don't feel 30, nor do I think that I look 30, though I might be on my way there...(trying to get back in shape, if I ever was there in the first place)

I sort of have been in a funk for the past few months leading to this because there has been a lot of things that I wanted to accomplish before I hit 30 and I did not do them all.  I had wanted to get in awesome shape like most of the guys I draw, I wanted to have written a novel, I wanted to have drawn a comic and sold it, etc...

While I did not get those done I have gotten to a good point.  I am financially self-sufficient, I have a job (though I hate it), I have a new vehicle, and best of all I have a man that I love who has been with me for 5 1/2 years.

My parents came over this past weekend and when I told my mom about my feeling of not accomplishing many things before 30 she gave me some pretty good advice.  She told me that your 20's are when you're investigating and still figuring things out.  In your 30's is when you accomplish things. So looking at it from that perspective I am in a vastly better position than I was at 20.  I have a good jumping off point.

It is never too late to get in shape, and you can still look youthful in your 40's and even 50's.  A novel has no timeframe and can be written anywhere and at anytime.  Plus I know that I will have someone by my side through it all.

So here's to 30.  Though I would love to be in my 20's with what I know and have now, I will look forward to what I will achieve in the next decade.

Barbarian & Demon - Diablo 3

Barbarian & Demon

Diablo 3 has been out for about three weeks now and I have to say that I love the game.  I have never played the other games, but I see how well those went to build this one.

My favorite character at the moment is the barbarian, and how could you not, big and buff with the ability to knock people across the screen.  Blizzard does a great job of making truly gruesome demons, but the Fallen are probably the most "normal" looking of demons.

I wanted to do something of fanart for this game since I do rarely do game fanart.  I am working on a new coloring technique and while it has worked on my more recent colorings with Baralust, I have not felt that I had the best success with my own lineart.  But I think that this one came out pretty well.

Please let me know what you think.

Kid Icarus - Coloring

Pit

Medusa

A few weeks back, DinosaurPrince asked me to color two drawings that he got from Urbanmusiq, an incredible artist, who he had commissioned two lineart pieces.  I was honored that he wanted to commission me to color them.

I have been toying around with a new painting technique, and decided that these were the perfect test beds for my new technique.  I think that they both turned out good, and I was glad to hear that DinosaurPrince as well as Urbanmusiq was happy with the work that I have done.

I did the same sort of technique on the last collaboration that I did with Baralust, Tauros & Bouffalant, which was my last post.  I like the texture that this technique provides me and I think that it works well with some of the lineart that I have been working on recently.

Please let me know what you think.

Tauros & Bouffalant - Collab

Tauros & Bouffalant

This is another collaborations with the highly talented Baralust.

I have started to test out a new coloring style.  The one that I have been using before I haven't really improved upon it in five or so years, or at least not to a noticeable point.  I will start to use this style and work on it more so that I can raise it to a higher level.

I found that Baralust's lineart lends itself well to the style and I have already completed another piece with it, that I will post in the future.

As always this was fun to do.  The adult coloring book never ceases to please.

Kazario's Flexing Cum-off

This is something that I put together as an art trade with Kazario. I chose two of his wide gallery of characters, though as of now they have no names.

I gave them Kazario's trademark larger than life cocks and overblow cumshots.

I want to thank Kazario for letting me use his characters.

I hope that everyone enjoys.

Happy Easter 2012

St. Patrick's Day

Easter 2012

Well it's been quite a while since I last posted here.  I apologize for that.  There have been two holidays that have passed by since I last posted and I did do art for them, but I was not able to color them with the exception of the Easter piece.

So you will find my WIP St. Patrick's Day drawing of a naked Irish guy with a powerful cock enjoying some green beer.  A bit cliche, but hey I never said that I was completely original.

The second is the Easter one.  Last year I had made some lineart that I honestly don't like.  I don't think that it turned out well.  I decided to try something new and this is what I came up with.

I hope that you all enjoy.

Gay For Pay

Dakota Cochrane
Danny - seancody.com

I normally do not post anything non-art related on my site, but I felt that I needed to post this.  It is not a moral assessment or even a condemnation, but more of an observation on the whole gay-for-pay phenomenon.

I came across a story today on Towleroad, a gay blog that I read every day, about a new Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter named Dakota Cochrane.  He revealed on one of the UFC shows that he did gay porn in the past, under the name Danny on the porn site Sean Cody.com.  He goes on to say that he is straight and it was gay-for-pay.  He says that he regrets it, but that is neither here nor there with this posting.  This sort of hit me in the stomach, not that he revealed that part of his past, honestly I had never even seen him before, but it was the fact of gay-for-pay.

Growing up in the deep south, very southern Louisiana (not New Orleans), I was not surrounded by anyone that could be called gay.  I did not have any sort of masculine gay male to look up to, all that I had were the stereotypical gay characters on movies and TV shows.  I was not naive enough to think that all gay guys played to that stereotype, but what your head tells you sometimes does not always make as much of an impact as seeing it.
Caesar

As most young gay guys I turned to porn early on.  It was here that I could see these powerful, handsome, and masculine guys sucking and fucking with other guys.  It sort of reinforced what my mind had kept telling me.  So in a way, porn was a self-esteem booster, for me at least.  I was not unaware of gay-for-pay, but I thought that it was something that was not wide spread.  During this time I grew to like this one porn star, Caesar.  He looked to be the epitome of the guy that I wanted, and he was doing all of these things with guys.  It was good to see.  This lasted for a while and soon I read where he had married his girlfriend and was leaving porn for good.  It was then that I realized that he was gay-for-pay.  It was like a kick in the gut.  I mean it was not like I knew this guy or anything, but the idea of him was shattered.  I don't know why it affected me like that but it did.

This is not a posting where I lost self-esteem because a porn star turned out to be straight, but it is something that I see happening more and more these days and it still feels like a slap in the face when I find out the truth.

I know that sites like Sean Cody and Corbin Fisher are catering to this idea, it is their whole M.O.  They show straight guys doing all of these gay things.  Yes it does hit on a fantasy that most of us have, I know that I do have that as well.  I also know that these sites make up all of the back-story on these guys and in all actuality the majority of them are gay and just playing a role, but when you do find out the truth it sort of destroys the fantasy that you have in your mind that these guys are really gay, but just putting on a "straight" face.
Matthew Rush

There are plenty of truly gay porn stars out there that are gay and do match up with the ideal that most of us have, Matthew Rush is the first that comes to mind.  But for every one of him there are others like Logan McCree that you build up in your mind that are gay, but you find out that they are straight, usually when they are getting out of the business.

Being gay-for-pay is nothing new and will still be going on for as long as there is humanity.  Hell I have paid for subscriptions to these sites in the past, and probably in the future, so yes I am supporting this idea as well.  But even with that I still can call out this observation.  I just know from experience that when you find out for fact that someone you fantasized about says that they were just gay-for-pay, it is a blow to the personal self-esteem that a lot of us have built over the years as we battle against the rest of the world that tries to portray us one way.  To me it seems to say that there are no masculine gay guys out there, that we have to pay straight guys to do those things.

A lot of people these days say that sexuality is a gray area, and for the most part it is, but a lot of us that grew up before the turn of the century, had to sort of build this idea of solidarity to combat the wanton attacks by the majority to make us seem less than we are.  So it just sometimes feels like another blow to the armor when someone comes out as gay-for-pay.  I am just at fault as many others for going to sites like Sean Cody and Corbin Fisher that propigate the "straight" guy persona.  I think most of us that go there are not there for the idea of a straight guy doing gay things, but that this "straight" guy is really gay and just putting up a front.

So in closing, this is not a post about that this is right or wrong, it is just my observations brought on by that Towleroad article that I read.  Take what I said for what it is worth.

Y! Gallery

As most of you know, Y! Gallery has been down for almost two weeks.  I know that the volunteer database admins are working hard to get the site back up and running, but they are all doing this on their own time, so while it sucks that the site is down, since we are not paying a premium to have 24-hour tech service, we need to cut them some slack.

But even as that is, I don't know if Y! will be back up.  I know that catastrophic hardware failure is unforeseen, so there was no looking out for this, but I just don't know if it will be back.

To that end, if Y! is not up in a few weeks I will start to post censored versions of my work on my Deviant Art (DA) account with link to this blog where the uncensored version would be hosted.  I think that this would be the best way since it will still allow me to have a community view my art, while picking up pageviews for my blog.

Here's to hoping that Y! is back up and running soon and we can all get back to viewing and favoriting all of the great artists on the site.

Ryl Commission

Ryl

Ryl Messy

The great commissioner, The Grand Emperor, sent me a request for a commission a few weeks ago.  He had commissioned me before for all of the Predator vs. Elite drawings, but this time he wanted to use one of his own original characters, Ryl.  I always love doing original characters, sometimes more than established mainstream ones.

His request was to have Ryl chained to a wall while a machine milks him for all he is worth.  He also wanted to have a machanical fuck-device about ready to penetrate him.  You see while Ryl might like guys, he has never taken it up the ass and guards it with everything he has.  So I was really draw to this interesting concept.  Also the idea that the fuck-device would be using his own cum was cool, sort of a complete circle.

I hope that everyone enjoys this, I certainly had fun working on it.

Popeye

Popeye

So it seems that my quest to destroy everyone's childhood is still going strong.  About a week ago I was talking with DinosaurPrince and he brought up Popeye.  Well I don't know what it was, but I started to think that I had never done anything with him, in an erotic form.  I mean his whole persona sort of works perfectly.  His spinach always made his muscles bigger, so why not something else.

Anyway I did this one pretty quickly and I wanted to get something personal done in between different projects that I have going on.  So I hope that you all enjoy.

Calvin & Hobbes - All Grown Up

Calvin & Hobbes

Calvin and Hobbes has been one of my favorite comics.  I loved the imagination that Calvin had and the adventures that he went on.  I was always impressed with the style that Bill Watson used on the strips and how much fun he could have with his creations.  The wise-cracks that Calvin would always use and the well thought-out explanations for things always brought a smile and laugh to my face.

I always sort of thought that Calvin would be a frat boy.  So I found a good reference and it seemed to fit what I wanted to go with.  Since Hobbes was always with him, I thought that he would be the same as Calvin.

I did this drawing not just because I wanted to do something to break the streak that I have been doing just side graphic work and a commission that is taking longer than it should, but because when I was looking over one of the blogs that I follow I found a posting about a contest that gay erotic comic write Dale Lazarov was hosting.  He wanted to have cartoonist/illustrators make a pin-up of a male comic strip character.  He is having a contest this weekend and I needed to get this in as soon as I could.

Anyway I hope that everyone likes the drawing.
